Mutu 'destroyed' by positive drugs test - agent

Adrian Mutu’s representative Gheorghe Popescu has urged the Chelsea striker not to “prolong the agony” by waiting for a ‘B’ sample after he tested positive for a banned substance.

The 25-year-old is understood to have written to the Professional Footballers’ Association for help in a bid to avoid the same kind of ban which shattered Mark Bosnich’s career.
