FA fine Fulham
Fulham have today been fined by England's Football Association for failing to control their players in the fracas against West Bromwich Albion.
Striker Andy Cole was sent off for lashing at Albion defender Neil Clement, who was also red-carded for his part in the incident, after Papa Bouba Diop had earlier been sent off for pushing Darren Purse in the face.
Fulham were today fined £7,500, reprimanded and warned about their future conduct after being charged with ‘failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from violent and/or threatening and/or provocative behaviour’ during the match last month.
Cole was given a hefty ban by the FA, who also charged him with abusing a match official, but reduced his suspension on appeal last week.
Manager Chris Coleman was also today fined £500 and given a warning after criticisms he made about referee Mark Halsey following the Cottagers’ match at home to Arsenal on September 11.
