Referee named for Carlsberg Cup final

Dublin official John Feighery has been handed the whistle for next weekend’s FAI Carlsberg Cup Final, it was announced today.

The 44-year-old FIFA referee will take charge of the Longford Town versus Waterford United showdown at Lansdowne Road on Sunday, October 24, thus completing a clean sweep of duties at the blue riband event having previously served as assistant referee and 4th Official in a senior cup final.

Feighery’s assistants will Martin Moloney of Edenderry, Co Meath, and Rhona Daly of Athlone, Co Roscommon, while Ian Stokes of Dublin has been named fourth official.
