Robbie Keane was a happy man after scoring the two goals to become the Republic of Ireland’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Keane duly took his place in his nation’s record books with a first-half brace, taking his tally to 23 to become Ireland’s all-time leading goalscorer ahead of Niall Quinn, as Ireland beat the Faroe Islands 2-0.
