NI defensive duo injured
Northern Ireland defenders Chris Baird and Mark Clyde have been ruled out of the World Cup qualifier against Austria tonight at Windsor Park because of ankle injuries.
The news was confirmed on the Irish Football Association’s website (www.irishfa.com). Baird suffered the problem against Azerbaijan while Clyde pulled up in training yesterday.
It is also reported locally that Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll will replace Maik Taylor between the posts.
