Diouf apologises over nightclub incident
Bolton striker El-Hadji Diouf has apologised after being dumped from the Senegal national team.
National boss Guy Stephan caught the temperamental former Liverpool marksman in a nightclub a few hours before the team were due to travel to Liberia for their 2006 World Cup qualifier which they won 3-0 on Sunday.
“I am really sorry not to have been part of the trip,” Diouf told www.lequipe.fr.
“But as I have always said a team should not depend only on one player.”
Diouf has not played for Senegal for most of the year after receiving a four-match suspension for aggressive behaviour during the African Nations Cup.
