Shels go to Dalymount on high

Shelbourne may have no regrets about visiting Dalymount Park after all when they take on Bohemians tonight in a rearranged Premier Division fixture (7.45pm).

Shels are reported to have tried to get this game called off in a bid to ease their fixture pile-up as the season draws to a close.

But a 5-2 drubbing over second-placed Drogheda United on their travels on Friday night has handed the champions an 11-point lead at the top of the table and confidence will be sky-high as they face Bohs.

The Gypsies, who climbed above Drogheda into the runners-up spot following their 2-2 draw with St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday night, welcome back skipper Kevin Hunt from suspension.

Goalkeeper Shay Kelly also returns following an illness which ruled him out of Friday’s match while striker Dominic Foley has recovered from flu but will be harder pressed to step back in at the expense of replacement Tony Grant, who scored twice against St Pat’s.

Shels, meanwhile, should be unchanged after reporting no new injuries following their successful trip to Drogheda.
