Shels-Bohs tie to go ahead

Bohemians' clash with Shelbourne on Monday night will go ahead as scheduled after a last-ditch attempt by Shels to have it postponed was turned down.

On Friday, Bohs revealed that their Dublin rivals had asked the eircom League to have the Dalymount Park game called off to save the league leaders from having to play five times in 15 days.

According to the Bohemians website, Shels were complaining that they had been placed at an unfair advantage for the final stages of the season as they had to play five times in 15 days.

Shels are reported to have taken their claim to a meeting of the FAI Appeal Board on Saturday at which the board dismissed the request.

The game will therefore go ahead on Monday at 7.45pm.
