Shels homing in on title

Shelbourne can take a giant step towards retaining their eircom League title tonight when they visit second-placed Drogheda United at United Park (7.45).

Shels are eight points clear at the top of the table and will have only midfielder Joseph Ndo unavailable through injury.

But they travel north on the back of a surprise 2-0 defeat at home to strugglers Derry City on Monday night.

Shels' manager Pat Fenlon will be hoping that loss can be filed under blip and that his side has the bouncebackability to get their title bid back on track.

But Drogheda have some recovering to do as well. Paul Doolin’s side have wobbled at home of late and lost their last three games at United Park.

But it is Tuesday night’s FAIreland cup semi-final replay defeat to Longford that will be foremost in his players’ minds.

Drogheda will be at full strength tonight for this live televised game.
