Rovers wage row escalates

Shamrock Rovers players refused to train last night in a continuing row over outstanding wages at the Dublin club.

The players, acting through the PFAI (Professional Footballers Association of Ireland), have issued a statement threatening an escalation of their industrial action, which began with their withdrawal from caretaker manager Noel Synnott's training sessions.
