Derry earn shock win at Shels

Derry threw a spanner in Shelbourne's title retention hopes with this fully deserved win - even if the champions remain eight points clear at the top of the table.

Michael Holt’s telling substitution on 56 minutes finally turned the game in Derry’s favour.

Within a minute, he won a corner which Killian Brennan floated over for Peter Hutton to head home.

Holt then scored a composed second on 76 minutes.

A defensive blunder gifted him the ball and the winger calmly shot past Steve Williams.
