Defender Claus Lundekvam has recovered from an ankle injury as Southampton head coach Steve Wigley bids for his first Barclays Premiership win against Manchester City tomorrow.

Lundekvam sustained the problem in last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Fulham but has been passed fit to partner Andreas Jakobsson in the centre of defence.

French midfielder Yoann Folly has been added to Wigley’s growing injury list after being ruled out for at least three weeks with a knee problem.

Midfielders Matt Oakley and Leandre Griffit are still a fortnight away from returning from a similar problem while captain Jason Dodd, Marian Pahars and Michael Svensson are out with long-term injuries.

Team (from): Niemi, Nilsson, Lundekvam, Jakobsson, Le Saux, Fernandes, Delap, Prutton, A Svensson, Phillips, Beattie, Crouch, Higginbotham, van Damme, Best, Cranie, Kenton, Baird, Blayney.
