Duff in Chelsea team to face Porto
Jose Mourinho kept faith with an unchanged line-up as Chelsea took on his former club Porto in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge tonight, with Damien Duff in the starting line-up.
Wayne Bridge was not deemed fit enough to return despite taking part in yesterday’s training session, while Joe Cole and Tiago both remained on the bench.
Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira were nevertheless both up against the club with whom they won the Champions League last season.
Porto, with Victor Fernandez now in charge, are much changed since Mourinho’s time, with Deco and Pedro Mendes also having departed.
While Giourkas Seitaridis and Nuno Valente were injured, Luis Fabiano and Ricardo Quaresma were among those signed to provide attacking options ahead of a midfield still featuring Maniche and Costinha.
