FAI Cup semis mean rescheduling of league games

Next weekend’s FAI Cup semi-finals have caused the scheduled eircom League Premier Division clash between St Patrick's Athletic and Drogheda United to be postponed.

Drogheda will be playing Longford Town in a live television date on RTÉ on Sunday afternoon.

Which means their league visit to Inchicore, originally scheduled for this Friday night, will now take place at Richmond Park on Monday, October 18, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The other members of the last four have all had their league matches postponed next weekend.

Derry City’s trip to Shelbourne on Friday night had already been put back to the following Monday due to Shels’ UEFA Cup game in Lille this Thursday night.

Their semi-final opponents Waterford United meanwhile, will be playing at the Brandywell on Friday rather than playing host to Bohemians at the RSC, while Longford Town’s home game with Dublin City next Saturday has also fallen by the wayside.

That leaves Cork City v Shamrock Rovers at Turner's Cross on Friday night as the only premier division fixture of the weekend.
