Shaun Byrne quits Vikings

Former Irish youth international midfielder Shaun Byrne has left Dublin City just four matches into his Vikings career.

The English-born 23-year-old signed for the eircom League premier division’s bottom club on August 19 having been released by West Ham during the summer.

But Byrne, who captained the Republic of Ireland at underage level, continued to live in England and has failed to adjust to the demands of commuting to Dublin.
