Wednesday sacking for Turner on Saturday

Sheffield Wednesday tonight sacked manager Chris Turner following the 1-0 home defeat by Bournemouth.

Turner has paid the price for the Owls’ indifferent start to the season, with the Yorkshire club languishing in 14th place in League One.

The 46-year-old former Manchester United goalkeeper took over at Hillsborough in November 2002 having previously guided Hartlepool to the Third Division play-offs three times.
