Selection crisis hits Dublin City

Bottom club Dublin City have been hit with a selection crisis ahead of tonight’s capital derby with Shamrock Rovers at Richmond Park (7pm).

Dublin City have worries with Alex Nesovic and Barry Ryan, both out due to family bereavements, while former Wimbledon star Efan Ekoku is unavailable due to work commitments. Marc Kenny (ankle) is also ruled out while Carlton Palmer is a doubt for tonight’s game owing to a thigh injury.

Selecting a fully-fit team is not an option either for caretaker Rovers manager Noel Synott, who will be missing Pat Deans, Keith Doyle, Liam Kelly, Fiachara McArdle, Gavin McDonnell and Derek Tracey.

However, Trevor Croly is expected to play.
