Portsmouth moved into ninth place in the Barclays Premiership with victory over Crystal Palace at Fratton Park.

Ricardo Fuller scored his first goal for the club after just 170 seconds and although Danny Granville equalised for Palace just before the interval, Patrik Berger’s rifled drive and an own goal from Tony Popovic sealed the points for Portsmouth.

To compound Palace’s misery, Andy Johnson had a penalty attempt saved by Shaka Hislop.
