Shels to stick with existing squad

Eircom League champions Shelbourne are unlikely to bolster their squad before the transfer window shuts later today, says manager Pat Fenlon.

Shels had been in talks with a number of players but Fenlon said wage demands had ruled out the possibility of signings.

Fenlon said: "We've spoken to a few players both at home and in the UK but they're all looking for crazy money. Everyone thinks we're loaded after our European run but I've got a limited budget with strict wage guidelines, so unless something changes, we'll settle for what we've got."

Shels’ under-21 player Derek Pender, meanwhile, has moved to first division Dundalk on loan.
