City duo ramble to Cobh on loan

Cork City duo Willie Byrne and Brendan Sweeney have joined neighbours Cobh Ramblers on loan as part of a player clearout at Turners Cross.

City boss Pat Dolan signed defender Byrne from Waterford United and midfielder Sweeney from Limerick earlier this season but, as reported in the Evening Echo earlier this week, the Leesiders are looking to cut costs following their exits from the InterToto and FAI Cups.
