Foran set for full Motherwell debut
Irish striker Richie Foran is to make his full league debut for Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League against Hearts tomorrow.
The controversial 24-year-old joined Terry Butcher's Motherwell side from Carlisle United. He impressed for Motherwell in pre-season and has so far featured as a substitute this season for the side.
"The boss called me in to give me the news today. He told me I'd be starting and I'm playing on the left hand side of midfield," 24-year-old Foran said.
"It didn't matter to me where I started - just to get playing is great," says the Dubliner.
Foran, a former Irish Under-21 international, scored 25 goals in 91 games for Carlisle, who snapped him up from Shelbourne in 2001.
His contract with the Cumbrian side ran out this summer and he made the move to Scotland. His league debut with Motherwell came with a substitute appearance against Celtic in the league opener.
Motherwell play Hearts at 3pm tomorrow.
