Josemi may miss Graz tie

Liverpool could be without new Spanish signing Josemi for their home Champions League third qualifying round second leg match at Anfield tomorrow against AK Graz.

The full back went off in the second half of Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Manchester City with a back problem after a clash with Nicolas Anelka. That meant Salif Diao coming on in the centre of defence and Jamie Carragher moving to right back.

Stephane Henchoz – who did not even make the bench against City – could come into the reckoning, or Steve Finnan could slot in at right back. Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is still troubled by a back problem, so youngster Paul Harrison could continue on the substitutes’ bench.

New Spanish captures Xabi Alonso or Luis Garcia were not signed in time to play at this stage of the Champions League, but they will certainly make their debuts at Bolton on Sunday.
