Givens retains Kearney and Doyle

Republic of Ireland Under 21 manager Don Givens has retained Cork City duo Liam Kearney and Kevin Doyle in an 18-man squad for the European Championship qualifiers with Cyprus and Switzerland next month.

The eircom League duo featured in Givens’ panel for last week’s friendly against Bulgaria, which the Irish won 3-2 at Drogheda’s United Park. The head coach has also called in Waterford United striker Daryl Murphy.
