McGeady starts for Irish U-21s

Don Givens’ Irish Under-21s aimed to make it 12 games unbeaten against Bulgaria at Drogheda tonight with new star Aiden McGeady in the side.

The 18-year-old Celtic star was given his debut to add to the full cap he received against Jamaica in June.

Leeds’ Henry McStay came in at full-back as Ireland aimed to maintain confidence ahead of their forthcoming European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.
