Finn Harps in position to sign Devenney

Finn Harps have moved closer to re-signing Gaelic footballer Brendan Devenney following his six-month ban by the GAA.

Croke Park’s Games Administration Committee (GAC) enforced the ban on the Donegal player for pushing referee Joe McQuillan after receiving two yellow cards against Fermanagh last month.

Devennney had been tipped to rejoin Finn Harps following Donegal’s exit from the Championship but the 26-week ban will see manager Felix Healy move quickly to bring the 28-year-old midfielder back to Ballybofey and Eircom League First Division football.

Devenney was in the the side when Finn Harps missed out on promotion in 2002 after losing a play-off final against Longford Town.
