Drogs' Lacey banned for two months after positive test
League of Ireland star, Drogheda's Glen Lacey will be sidelined for six weeks after he was slapped with a two-month ban.
The ban was backdated two weeks after the former Sunderland and Shamrock Rovers starlet tested positive for cannabis - not a performance enhancer.
This is the first positive test since the introduction of widespread drug testing in the League last month.
Drogheda has indicated that Lacey will not be sacked but it is likely there will be an internal punishment from manager Paul Doolin.
The new testing programme will see players from the league randomly tested on a regular basis.
