Rovers count cost of injuries
Shamrock Rovers have injury problems heading into tonight’s eircom League premier division clash with an equally-stretched Waterford United at Richmond Park (7pm).
The Hoops will be without four frontline players in Derek Tracey, Liam Kelly, Paul Caffrey and Gavin McDonnell while defender Jason McGuinness faces a fitness test before kick-off on a hamstring pull which cut short his involvement in last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Drogheda United.
Waterford United are missing player-manager Alan Reynolds due to a knee injury sustained during last weekend's defeat to Longford Town.
Reynolds’ injury is added to long-term absentees Vinny Sullivan and Wayne Fitzgerald’s problems while skipper and left-back John Frost has been ruled out for another three weeks with an ankle injury and Irish Under-21 goalkeeper Dan Connor is serving a one-match suspension.
David Hennessy is set to return between the posts and David Breen and Kevin Waters are available once again following one-match bans.
Former Wolves and Kidderminster defender Kenny Coleman, signed on a free transfer yesterday, will feature tonight subject to international clearance.
