Blues lose player-boss Reynolds to suspension
Waterford United’s wafer-thin squad will be further stretched later this month after player-manager Alan Reynolds picked up a one-match suspension today.
Reynolds has been forced to grin and bear it as he has lost four first-team players to long-term injury and he learned earlier this week he will be without club captain John Frost for at least another three weeks with an ankle problem.
Now Reynolds himself has been taken out of the equation for the trip to St Patrick’s Athletic on August 27 as a result of reaching eight penalty points.
The FAI’s Disciplinary Commission has also dished out one-match bans effective from Wednesday, August 25, to Drogheda United’s John Lester and Dublin City’s Cathal O'Connor for reaching eight and four penalty points respectively.
The players were due to meet on August 27 when the current league table toppers play host to the premier division’s bottom club.
