Murphy rues Reds' revamp

Danny Murphy left Liverpool for Charlton in search of the “camaraderie” he regrets no longer exists at Anfield in the cosmopolitan era to be overseen by new boss Rafael Benitez.

After signing for Charlton on the day the south Londoners also bought ex-Everton forward Francis Jeffers from Arsenal for £2.6m (€3.8m), 27-year-old Murphy last night professed himself convinced that Liverpool’s decision to let their home-grown stars depart Merseyside will severely threaten his old club’s long-term success.
