Dublin City's new manager Roddy Collins has made the first addition to his squad with the signing of Mark Kenny from Shamrock Rovers.

Kenny played for the Vikings over the weekend in a 1-1 friendly draw with English non-league side AFC Sudbury, scoring a second-half equaliser with a curling free-kick.

Kenny is available for Thursday’s eircom League Premier Division match with fellow strugglers Derry City.

The Dubliners are eight points adrift at the foot of the table with a game in hand on second from bottom Longford Town and two games on next-placed Derry.

Meanwhile, Keith Maher has left Dublin City to join first division Kilkenny City after 14 months at the club.

Maher, aged 23, won an eircom League First Division championship medal with the Vikings last season but has been unable to hold down a first-team place either up front or as an attacking midfielder.
