Lambert to quit at end of season

Celtic skipper Paul Lambert has confirmed he will quit playing at the highest level at the end of the season to focus all his efforts on becoming a top-flight manager.

The 35-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract but, having been allowed to flit between Scotland and Germany for a high-level coaching licence, he has reiterated his desire to seek a new challenge come next May.
