Blackburn goalkeeper Brad Friedel could yet be fit for the Premiership opener against newly-promoted West Brom next week.

The giant American thought he would miss the Ewood Park clash after suffering a thigh injury during Rovers’ friendly encounter with Bohemians Prague last month.
