McCoist gets coaching post
Rangers legend Ally McCoist is set to swap his microphone for a start in coaching at Livingston.
The former Scotland international will find himself with several free weekends after the BBC regained the rights to Barclays Premiership football from ITV next season.
Now, after gaining a key coaching badge this summer, McCoist is eager to return to the game with the West Lothian club.
McCoist told the Sunday Mail: “I always had coaching in mind and went through my ‘A’ advanced licence in the summer and passed it – so now I’m ready to be set loose on some players.
“That might be a scary thought for them but I can’t wait.
“I’ve spoken to (manager) Allan Preston at Livingston, who’s a great lad, and we are both keen to get something sorted out very soon.”
