Monaghan upset Dublin in Carlsberg Cup

Monaghan shocked the Premier Division Dublin City to take a 19th minute lead and hold out for a rousing win.

Jimmy Fullam floated a free-kick to the back post and Anto Murphy rose to head home. Vikings had star striker Gary O’Neill dismissed three minutes into the second half for a bad challenge, but continued to chase the game hard.

Derek Griffin had their best chance late on but Monaghan keeper Vladimir Munteanu made a super save.
