Dessie Baker created one and scored the crucial second goal as Longford got their tactics spot on to reach their season successive Eircom League Cup final where they will meet Bohemians on August 30th.

Harps had all the possession but fell a goal behind on 18 minutes and might have been two down at the break.

Sean Francis tapped in Town’s lead after Baker robbed Tony Gorman to send Sean Prunty away down the left to cross.

Darragh Sheridan then hit the bar on 45 minutes after a blunder by James Gallagher gifted the ball to Baker.

Gallagher gaffed again on 55 minute when spilling a cross to gift Baker a simple goal.

Kevin McHugh gave Harps hope when pulling a goal back within two minutes, but Town defended superbly to reach their third cup final in twelve months.
