Wenger to 'keep an eye' on trialists

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out bids for trialists Marco Ne and Emmanuel Eboue but admits they could be players to watch for the future.

The Ivory coast duo – who play for Belgian First Division side Beveren – were given the second half of Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Barnet to showcase their talents.

And although they performed with credit by helping the Gunners to a 10-1 thrashing of the Conference side, Wenger feels it is too soon to offer them a move to Highbury.

He told the club’s official website, www.arsenal.com: “We have a good partnership with Beveren.

“Every year I go out there to watch them once or twice and I choose one or two players who have the potential to be with us,”

“We were right with the two we chose at Barnet – they have both got talent. At the moment they will stay where they are but we will keep an eye on them.”
