League boss hails City heroics

Cork’s City European heroics have been acclaimed by eircom League Chairman Declan O Luanaigh.

After a goalless draw in Holland last week, the Leesiders beat Dutch side NEC Nijmegen 1-0 in their second round second leg InterToto Cup tie at Turners Cross to become the first eircom League club to reach the third round proper of any European competition.
