Bolton consider signing Hierro

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has declared an interest in securing the services of veteran defender Fernando Hierro.

The former Spain and Real Madrid star, now aged 36, is looking for a new club after a season in Qatar.

Allardyce confirmed: “I am interested in Fernando Hierro.”

The Bolton boss has already recruited one defender this week – Tunisia international Radhi Jaidi on a two-year deal.

Jaidi’s arrival follows that of two strikers, Michael Bridges and Les Ferdinand, formerly of Leeds and Leicester respectively.
