Bolton today snapped up experienced Tunisia defender Radhi Jaidi on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old international arrives from league champions Esperance De Tunis.

Jaidi, who has won 68 caps, helped Tunisia defeat Nigeria in the Africa Nations Cup final.

He said: “I’ve had an excellent career with Esperance and left on a high. But I now feel ready to experience a different challenge.

“The attraction of Premiership football is difficult to resist, and when I found out that Bolton were interested in me I was very keen.

“Other clubs also showed an interest but Bolton took the trouble to see me in person and proved how serious they were in acquiring my services.

“I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates, and flying the flag for Tunisian football in what is one of the world’s greatest leagues.”

Jaidi is manager Sam Allardyce’s third summer signing. Strikers Michael Bridges and Les Ferdinand have also joined up at the Reebok Stadium.
