Pleat wants Tottenham role

David Pleat has revealed he would like to stay on at Tottenham in some capacity.

The end of Pleat’s six-year stint as director of football at White Hart Lane was signalled in May when Frank Arnesen was appointed as sporting director.

Pleat twice stepped into the breach as caretaker manager during that period, including for the final eight months of last season after Glenn Hoddle’s departure.

The club are now taking a new direction with Arnesen and new head coach Jacques Santini coming in but Pleat does not want to sever ties completely.

“I just hope to stay involved in some way,” Pleat told the League Managers Association’s website, www.leaguemanagers.com.

“But I’ve just got to take every day as it comes at the moment, and as I’ve always said, I wish them well in whatever they do.”
