Drogs arrange friendly with Portadown
Drogheda United will play host to Portadown in a friendly match next week.
The Irish League Premier Division runners-up will visit United Park next Monday evening at 7.45pm as the visitors prepare for a UEFA Cup first qualifying round first leg tie at home to Lithuania’s Zalgiris Vilnius on July 15.
The match has some uses for Drogheda, too, with manager Paul Doolin able to hand a debut to new signing from Holland Jerome Sandvliet.
The Dutch left winger signed last week on a Bosman but will not have received his international clearance in time for the Drogs' next league match at Waterford United on Friday night.
The 27-year-old will now be able to play a full match ahead of his expected eircom League debut at home to St Patrick’s Athletic on July 9.
