Longford’s goal drought continued as they made it seven games from their last nine in the league without scoring.

It might have been different if Eric Lavine’s effort on three minutes hadn’t shaved a post.

Drogheda responded with Declan O’Brien bringing the best out of Stephen O’Brien from their clearest chance on 14 minutes.

It was a dour struggle thereafter with the best chance of the second half falling to Town late on when Alan Kirby dived low to head wide.
