Fitzpatrick seals win for Shelbourne

Glen Fitzpatrick hit a brace as Shels stretched their lead at the top of the table to 12 points.

Shels took the game to St. Pat’s and were in front on 20 minutes.

Wes Hoolahn had set up Jason Byrne to crack a shot off a post a minute before.

The little midfielder then worked the oracle again to lay the ball off for Fitzpatrick to crash a shot into the roof of the net.

But St. Pat’s hit back to level within five minutes when Aidan O’Keeffe fired low past Steve Williams.

But Fitzpatrick got his second, again from a Hoolahan assist, on 56 minutes to earn the points.
