Hibs complete Brown capture
Hibernian have completed the signing of goalkeeper Simon Brown on a three-year deal.
The 27-year-old former Tottenham trainee ended a five-year spell at Colchester to try his luck in Scotland.
New Hibs boss Tony Mowbray moved for Brown when it became clear that the out-of-contract Daniel Andersson, last season’s first choice, was not coming back to the club.
Mowbray told hibs.org.uk: “I am delighted that Simon has decided to join us and it is a great signing for the club.
“Simon is a good goalkeeper who I think we are very fortunate to have signed. He was attracting a lot of attention from other clubs in England and if we had not got him now then I fear he would have very quickly moved out of our reach.
“Simon is a consistent goalkeeper, very level-headed. When picking any player for your squad you have to look at every aspect of how they play, and in goalkeepers an important thing to look for is their consistency.
“You have to be fairly sure that you are going to get a performance week in, week out and Simon, I think, will deliver on that.”
