Smicer steals win for Czechs

Liverpool pair Vladimir Smicer, with a late winner, and Milan Baros, with a stunning equaliser, sent the Czechs into the last eight here in Aveiro after a stunning Group D clash with the Dutch.

Holland went two up early on through Wilfred Bouma and Ruud van Nistelrooy before the Czechs stormed back – first through Jan Koller in the first half and then a cracking equaliser from Baros with 19 minutes left.

The Dutch then had Johnny Heitinga sent off for a second yellow card before the Czechs grabbed their late, late winner.
