Spain unchanged for Greece tie
Spain coach Inaki Saez named an unchanged side from that which made hard work of beating Russia last weekend, which meant no place for matchwinner Juan Carlos Valeron.
Valeron, who scored the only goal of the game against the Russians, was left on the bench at Boavista’s compact Bessa Stadium, with Fernando Morientes given another run as Raul’s strike partner.
Like Spain, the Greeks, who produced a major shock by beating Portugal in the tournament’s opening game, also had high hopes of securing their place in the quarter-finals but they made one change to the team that beat the hosts.
Out went midfielder Angelis Basinas and in came Konstantinos Katsouranis of AEK Athens.
