Everton turn down Radzinski transfer request
Everton have rejected a transfer request from Tomasz Radzinski.
The Canada international, who has a year left on his current contract, told the Goodison Park club he wanted to leave because he was unhappy with only being offered a one-year extension.
However, Everton manager David Moyes seems determined to hold him to the terms of his deal by declining his request.
Ian Ross, the club’s head of public relations, told the Everton website, www.evertonfc.com: “I can confirm this morning we have received a written transfer request from Tomasz Radzinski.
“However, the club wishes to announce that we have rejected the request.”
The 30-year-old Radzinski, who scored eight goals in the Premiership last season, wanted a longer deal.
He added: “The contract offered by Everton was only for a one-year extension, which would have left me standing in the same spot next season.”
Radzinski joined the Merseyside club from Belgian side Anderlecht three years ago in a £4.5million deal.
His transfer request is likely to alert a number of Premiership suitors, including Fulham, Blackburn and Portsmouth.
