Bolton to seal Cisse deal
Bolton are on the verge of signing Birmingham’s Senegal midfielder Aliou Cisse.
Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside revealed that Cisse has passed a medical and it is now up to manager Sam Allardyce to rubber-stamp the deal.
Gartside said: “Birmingham have accepted our offer and it is just a matter of finalising things.
“The player has been for a medical and passed with flying colours. Now things are up to Sam really,” Gartside told the club website, www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk.
Cisse joined Birmingham in August 2000 for £1.5m (€2.275) from Paris St Germain and played an integral part in helping the club stay in the Premiership.
But after falling out with manager Steve Bruce last season after showing up late for pre-season training, Cisse made 17 appearances and picked up seven yellow cards and one red.
Cisse’s arrival will follow the signing of former Leeds striker Michael Bridges yesterday.
