Blackpool have unveiled former Scotland international defender Colin Hendry as their new manager.

Blackpool have unveiled former Scotland international defender Colin Hendry as their new manager.

The 38-year-old has succeeded Steve McMahon in the Bloomfield Road hot-seat following his departure in early May.

Centre-back Hendry, who had spells with Rangers, Manchester City and Blackburn before closing out a 22-year playing career while on loan at Blackpool, was installed as boss at a press conference this morning.

Club chairman Karl Oyston had held extensive interviews to find a suitable replacement for McMahon, with Hendry beating off the likes of Gudjon Thordarson and Andy Preece for the post.
