League Cup fixtures announced
The 2004 eircom League Cup quarter-final fixtures have been set by the eircom League today.
Monday, June 14
Limerick v Cork City, Pike Rovers SG, 6.30pm
Sligo Rovers v Finn Harps, Showgrounds, 7.30pm
Bohemians v UCD, Dalymount Park, 7.45pm
Tuesday, June 15
Longford Town v Dublin City, Flancare Park, 7.45pm
In the event of a draw after 90 minutes of play, extra time of 30 minutes duration will take place. If a tie still persists then a penalty shoot-out will take place to determine the winners.
All of this year's quarter-finalists have reached the last four of the competition before, with Bohemians and Sligo Rovers leading the way with nine semi-final appearances each.
Should Bohemians see off UCD at Dalymount Park and Sligo Rovers beat Finn Harps on June 14, they will join Shamrock Rovers in third place in the overall semi-final appearances list.
UCD and Longford Town will be bidding to reach only their second League Cup semi-final but can boast the only 100% record in League Cup semi-finals; UCD reaching the 2001 final, Longford the 2003.
Should Dublin City overcome Longford Town at Flancare Park they will make their first appearance in a League Cup semi-final as 'Dublin City'.
Limerick will be bidding to reach their ninth League Cup semi-final. Cork City, aiming for their seventh semi-final outing, stand in their way. Finn Harps will reach their fifth semi-final if they get past Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds on June 14.
